Even the Wobbly Steps Count

When we think of growth, it’s usually the big, visible milestones that come to mind — the seed cracking open into green, the tree reaching toward the sky, the long-labored project finally complete, or the long-awaited promotion finally in hand.

But there’s another kind of growth. One that’s quieter. Slower. More uncertain.
The kind that doesn’t look like progress from the outside.

Writer Alice Walker once described this beautifully:

“We may feel hostile or angry or weepy and hysterical, or we may feel depressed.
It would never occur to us, unless we stumbled on a book or person who explained it to us, that we were in fact in the process of change, of actually becoming larger, spiritually, than we were before.”

If that’s where you are — if your growth feels unclear, messy, or not like growth at all — I want you to know:
I see you. I’ve been there too.

And those confusing, in-between spaces? They’re often where the most important shifts take root.
